Vice President -Rita Amos

Bead Bio - Rita started beading around 2008 with stringing.  She liked it but wanted something more challenging so she started taking beading classes in Holly Springs & Cary, NC.   She began with simple classes and proceeded to beadweaving of all forms from peyote to bead embroidery.  She joined CABO in about 2008. Joining CABO has allowed her to meet people with like interests and make great friendships. She is actively involved with sharing and gaining knowledge of beading with her fellow members and guests at CABO meetings.

Treasurer - Cheryl Kruse

Email - caboraleigh@yahoo.com

Bead Bio - Cheryl started with beads in 2011 while seeking the perfect bracelets to give as gifts.  She spied the strings of beads in AC Moore and was hooked.  After retirement in 2012, she became more involved with beading and in April of 2014, joined CABO. Joining the organization has allowed her to grow in her knowledge of many techniques. She loves experimenting with various bead types and colors. Her earring collection has grown so much her daughter tells her she should open an earring store!

Education Co-director
 - Kathy Marikar

Email – caboraleigh@yahoo.com

Bead Bio - Cabochons and beading must be in Kathy’s blood, because her family had always been rock hounds.  Kathy started out by buying the book Beading with Cabochons by Jaime Cloud Eakin, even though she had never beaded before!  She fell in love with everything she saw. There happened to be a bead show (every three months, who knew) very close to where she lived and there just happened to be cabochon bead embroidery class. Guess where Kathy spent that day in 2009! The rest is history!!!!

Education Co-director - Naomi Profesorsky

Email – caboraleigh@yahoo.com

Bead Bio - Naomi Profesorsky has been beading since 2003. Once introduced to beading, it was clear that she found her medium. Over the last several years Naomi has incorporated Soutache trims and Shibori silk ribbons with her bead weaving, creating dazzling effects of colorful waves around sparkling focal components. Animals such as koalas, owls, and monkeys can be seen in Naomi’s soutache work regularly.

Naomi teaches in Cary, North Carolina, and at the NC State University Craft Center. Her education and work in engineering and process improvement support well-planned and fun workshops with a focus on improving techniques, skills, and artistic growth. Naomi has a few go-to stitches that she prefers to use while watching TV and relaxing, one is the Russian spiral, another is twisted herringbone. If you want to know what her favorite color way is - the above picture will not give it up – it is the purples and blues…
